Violence over a Relic

Kyr Kittaj reporting for the Coruscant News Network

I was fortunate enough to be on the scene as Jedi Master Lucas Atlantis traveled to Korriban earlier today on a mission to take a Holocron from the Sith known as Darth Chaos. During the confrontation between the two Atlantis claimed that the Holocron had been taken from the Jedi temple in Imperial City. Darth Chaos denied this claim stating that no evidence had been brought forward proving the relic belonged to the Jedi. Words quickly gave way to a clash of sword and lightsaber as Chaos came at Atlantis in an attack. After a brief battle the Jedi fell defeated. An imperial Knight initiate named Alex Dakaar was on the scene, though later would not explain his reason for his presence on Korriban, and quickly brought his ship down into the fray. Retrieving Master Atlantis, as well as this reporter, and quickly leaving the planet. Master Atlantis remains in intensive care on Coruscant apparently suffering from mental trauma as well as physical injuries. The fate of the Holocron as well as the reasons both Master Atlantis and Darth Chaos are so adamant in possessing it are still unknown.

A Call to War by the Grand Moff

Ladies and gentlemen of the Galactic Senate. As many of you know and have witnessed there has been an alarming amount of violent Sith activity on Coruscant in recent days. Dozens of our innocent citizens have died horrible deaths at the hands of these sinister beings. The Imperial Knights, Imperial Storm Corps and Imperial Intelligence Beaureau have all traced this rise in violence back to the Sith Empire currently based in Vjun. We can no longer call ourselves a responsible government and a protector of our citizens if we let this slaughter continue. As acting Emporer of this New Galactic Empire it is within my power to put an end to these attrocities... Nay it is my DUTY to put an end to this violence and I will do so by any means necessary. In that veign I hearby declare an immediate and total state of war now exists between the New Galactic Empire and the Sith Empire based on Vjun.

As I speak our forces are mobilizing to bring this fight directly to surface of Vjun. Our numbers are great, our will is strong and we will not be defeated! For too long this galaxy has been plagued by the curse of the Sith and their dark ways. As of this moment those days are at an end. For centuries we have tried to defeat the Sith by fighting their own game. By means of subterfuge and trickery. Studying those efforts it has become clear to me that the Sith only speak one language. The language of violence and bloodshed. Unfortunately for them that is a tongue I am very fluent in. They have shown no mercy to their enemies and I intend to show none to them. The Sith are not a society. They are not a race. They are not a people. They are a disease. A plague. A scourge of hatred and loathing and all that is twisted and evil in this galaxy. It ends NOW!

I give this speech to the gathered members of this Senate not as a plea for help. Quite honestly we don't need it. If you are willing to join us and be part of this most honorable of crusades we will gladly accept your cooperation. However, I give this speech... this declaration... as a warning. Things will be violent. They will be bloody. They will be considered by some to be cruel and out of bounds. But if this is what it takes to finally be rid of this plague then so be it. The New Galactic Empire is not interested in pleas for mercy on behalf of the Sith Empire. We're not interested in negotation. We ask... No we demand... that the members of this Senate help us or get out of the way. I hearby yield the floor.

Imperial City Newsflash

" And Last night, The Incom Facility in the Industrial sector of Coruscant was leveled by an explosion, and caved in on itself. There seems to be structural damage to whatever the structures were below it, though they are not readily visible. Debris removal has begun, and continues through the night. The CEO of Incom, Harlan Davidson, has not yet made a statement on the situation."
